In this video tutorial introduce methods for managing and querying sequence data on one’s computer using BLAST, Perl, and BioPerl tools. Overviews of BLAST and BioPerl are provided. In addition, a marker discovery project in tomato that uses Perl, BioPerl, and BLAST tools on a Linux platform is presented as an example.In this video, Dr. Francis introduces Perl and BioPerl, and he teaches users how to download and install BioPerl.
